Introducing the MBTA workshop

Global Indian International School, Chinchwad recently held a lawn tennis introductory workshop in the school campus in association with Mahesh Bhupati Tennis Academy for children of age 3 onwards. The objective was to get experts on board for training our students for a sport that is a favorite amongst youth.

The workshop saw registration from over 175 parents who accompanied their children for the introductory workshop in time slots of one hour each. A team of 4 coaches with 1 master coach and a representative from the MBTA visited the school to orient the learners towards the first flavor of Lawn Tennis. It was heartening to see children actively participating and engaging with the basics of lawn tennis and appreciating the workshop. As an institution, the school actively believes in bringing new and innovative collaborations for the benefit of our students.

The Mahesh Bhupati Tennis Academy has been founded by the legendary Indian tennis player Mahesh Bhupati. His initiative in Pune is headed by Gaurav Natekar who himself is an ace Indian tennis player. The principal on the occasion said, “With an objective of bringing the finest to train our students who want to take up Lawn Tennis as an active sport, we are looking at introducing this as an extended program. I really hope parents look at the merits and support us in this initiative”.
