The GIIS Youth Convention- Mélange

With undiluted energies from the brigade of young students, school youth festivals are the cradles of the students’ artistic and cultural development. Providing a forum to discover, applaud and rejoice the young artistic talent, Global Indian International School, Chinchwad held it’s inter school annual youth fest- Mélange. A platform of developing on tangents like leadership, creativity, innovation and team work, this event saw great camaraderie between the students from different schools.

This year we also partnered with CMS Vatavaran for the International River Festival as State partners towards preserving the most important resource on planet earth. With the theme of ‘Save Water for Life’, this movement was revolutionary in terms of bronging the youth together for the cause of cleaning up of the Mula- Mutha river.

A jamboree of competitions like group dance, solo and group singing, instrumental music in various forms, painting, writing, Rubiks cube, spell bee, archery, wall art were seen to be taking place all over the campus. The convention saw participation from various schools of the city like The Orchid School, City International School, Phoenix World School, GGIS, Indira National School, DAV, Podar International, GyanaProbodhini D. Patil Jr. Coll, Shiv Chhatrapati Raje, Novel International, Vidya Niketan, KJ Gupta Jr. College and many more.

Giving students an opportunity to express their artistic and literary talents, this convention celebrates the spirit of youth across various verticals bringing forward the most celebrated talents. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of various competitions. City International School, Pimpri were the proud winners of receiving the Best School award for their overall consistent performance across all competitions.

Principal Dr Amrita Vohra said, “Each event is based on literary, artistic, cultural, sport and intellectual activities. All the events in the fest have been designed to develop analytical abilities, enhance confidence and channelize creative potentials among young minds in order to nurture their physical and mental growth and meet the demand of this millennium.”
