Say Hello to Mahi Maulavi, student of K-I, twinkle of her parent’s eye, star achiever of GIIS and pride of our nation. A wonder on roller skates, it is a delight to watch Mahi go zip zap zoom as she wheels around with immense confidence, poise, striking a perfect balance.

Roller skating has emerged to be one of the top hobby choices for children of young age and at a tender age of 5, Mahi has mastered her hobby by sharpening her skills. Involving high levels of concentration and balance, she has earned herself a name in the Roller Skating circuit of India and has bagged accolades not only at state levels but nationally and internationally as well. The latest achievement in her very impressive dossier is etching her name in the Guinness Book of World records for being part of a dancing group comprising of 280 participants who danced to the tunes on their wheels for nonstop 30 minutes. The competition which was held at Bergaum, Karnataka had non dancer participants in the age group of 4 years to 15 years.

Mahi is also a Dronacharya Award winner for roller skating, has won the gold medal in the Open District Roller Skating Championship 2015, won the 17th All India Roller Skating Championship and bagged the Kantijyoti Savitribai Phule Puraskar for roller skates. Ask the little champ what she loves about skating and he is quick to reply with gleaming eyes, “SPEED!” She says with joy and love for skating reflecting in her voice, “I love to be on the skates all the times. I feel nice and brave.”
