Special emphasis is taken in Global Indian International School Chinchwad to instil among the students the respect for sacrifices and gallant efforts made by Indians for the pride and honour of nation. The day was observed by a Special Assembly to mark the occasion of Martyrs Day by the students of Grade IV Section B&D. In India Martyrs’ Day is observed on January 30th, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi- The father of the Nation. The day is observed in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s Freedom. Martyrs’ Day is also a day to salute the martyrdom of soldiers who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation.
Assembly started by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi followed by his favourite prayer song “Hey Ram”. The students read out an article by Justice C. S Dharmadhikari ,” Kachra sirf sadak par nahi hota” the thought elaborated upon need for introspection among people in our society to bring about a positive change. The inspirational thoughts of Gandhiji reverberated in the assembly as they were shared by students on the occasion. A poem to motivate the young generation was read by the children. A PPT on the life of Mahatma Gandhi showing his trials and tribulations and relentless efforts in the Indian Freedom Struggle and contribution to nation building was shown. The assembly concluded with the soul stirring and motivational song “Ei mere watan ke logo”, sung with passion by the students.
The students of the other classes throughout the school paid a 2 minute silent tribute for the Father of the Nation.
These efforts would go a long way in shaping their character and future and kindle the spirit of Pride and Gallantry among them.
